World Cup 2010 Ball

The Adidas Jabulani is the official match ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The ball was unveiled in Cape Town, South Africa on December 4, 2009. Jabulani means “rejoice” in Zulu, and was developed at Loughborough University, UK.

The ball was also used as the match ball of 2009 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, and a special version of the ball, the Jabulani Angola, was the match ball of the 2010 African Cup of Nations. This ball is also used in the 2010 MLS season in the USA in the league’s colours of blue and green as well as the 2010 Clausura Tournament of Argentina.

The Jabulani has four triangular design elements on a white background. Eleven different colours are used, representing the eleven players on a football team, the eleven official languages of South Africa, and the eleven South African communities.

The Jabulani Angola, used at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola, was coloured to represent the yellow, red, and black of the host nation’s flag. For the final match that will be held in Johannesburg on 11 July, a special match ball will be used with gold panels. The name of the ball inspired by the city of Johannesburg, which is often nicknamed Jo’burg and will be the site of the 2010 Final.

The Jabulani balls are made in China, using latex bladders made in India, thermoplastic polyurethane-elastomer from Taiwan, ethylene vinyl acetate, isotropic polyester/cotton fabric, glue, and ink from China.

The Jabulani is going to be every goalkeeper’s nightmare, and every striker’s greatest Christmas gift. To be honest, I can’t wait to see Cristiano Ronaldo strike this Jabulani Soccer Ball because when he does it could be spectacular! I spent some time taking shots and it absolutely pings. The Jabulani is a very light ball and when you strike it clean it moves fast. In a sense, it reminds me of a plastic ball and it sounds plastic when you bounce it.

One of customer review is Fernando Robledo. Here is what he said about World Cup 2010 Ball“Best Soccerball ever. Now I know why soccer players kick hard and move fast. It’s all about the Ball.”

Spain vs Germany 2010

After watching last nights long awaited world cup semi final between the current european champions Spain and the impressive, high goal scoring Germany, which I must say was a very tense match especially as I was watching it with a spaniard who was endlessly shouting at the television thinking he was really there in the staduim.

At the half time break the score was still an agonising 0-0 and during the tv adverts there was a constant push for Internet Marketing of the world cup where so much information is accessible online these days, for example if you had missed any of the previous games you were able to watch them on the internet, being able to view all the live match statistics as well as join an online forum to discuss your own thoughts and post your own comments.

The World Cup has been such a success for South Africa and given the country the boost its needs to attract higher tourism levels.

I cannot imagine how online businesses, not just in South Africa, but worldwide have increased the Search Engine Optimisation on there sites to gain sales and further business, especailly anyone selling those noisy trumpets also known as a vuvuzela which I saw being sold in a local supermarket, as if hearing them on the tv isnt bad enough!

The football stadiums in South Africa were very impressive, especially the one in Durban which was were Spain were to get a suprised 1-0 defeat to Switzerland match. A friend of mine was lucky enough to see that match as he was visiting family down there.

My friend predicts that the Netherlands are in for winning the world cup, because he has holland in the sweepstake at the Ecommerce website design business he works at.

Some of the football sites also have some fantastic web design too!

Soccer Training Tips: 5 Sure-fire Tips To Coach Goalkeepers

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Soccer training tips

If you’re like me you probably know that soccer training tips for goalkeeper are of immense value since a goalie is the only player on the field who is allowed to touch the ball by both hands and arms.

Therefore, it’s the soccer skills of a goalie that set him apart in a better position, in comparison to others. But this makes the job of training goalkeepers for soccer even more difficult.

Based on the method of play in soccer, goalkeepers are the first line of offense and last line of defense. They will not hesitate in putting their bodies in harms way to stop or block a shot into the goal. They are ready to dive in any direction to catch hold of the ball.

Goalkeepers training for soccer on various techniques specific to their role and the level of their play can be extremely demanding. At the same time, his or her mental state should be kept in mind while teaching him various skills.

Soccer Training

In terms of comparison, only a striker can match the skills and enthusiasm of a goalkeeper. Almost all goalies have essentially played as goal hungry strikers at one point or the other in their soccer careers. You’ll be able to encounter frequent one on one battle between the goalie and the forwards at different levels of competition.

Of all the soccer training tips, the one essential for the goalie to follow is that he should stay balanced and be aware of the center of gravity of the body. This will benefit a game setting by enhancing the activity of a goalkeeper and the promptness of other players.

While a majority of goalkeepers are tall with big hands and long arms but even if it is not the case, they simply compensate for the lack of their physical attributes with good vertical and lateral mobility.

Goalkeepers need unvarying motivation even though they have a good sense of self-worth and the coaches should never forget this. It is necessary that goalkeepers split up and perform practice soccer drills specific to their role after that have done their regular warm up exercises with the team.

Goalkeepers have a dominant personality and in that sense they are also the leaders of the teams. When goalkeepers are supported by their teammates and are put in a demonstrative capacity, they are able to achieve the desired results.

The goalie is allowed to handle the ball only in the 18 yard box. If there is anyone other than the goalie, who gets to touch the ball, the opponent team wins a free kick. If it is a goalie’s teammate, it’s a penalty shoot from “the spot”.

So you should now concentrate on using these soccer training tips by encouraging the goalkeeper who leads the team inside the 18 yard box, and needs appreciation of remaining teammates. World Cup 2010 Is Finished, Euro 2012 Is Next

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

As Spain were crowned World Cup winners in Soweto, the curtain fell on the first World Cup Finals to be staged in Africa. European teams completed a 1-2-3 with Spain defeating Holland in the final in addition to Germany getting 3rd place after a 3-2 success over Uruguay.

This definitely reinforces the theory that European football is the most effective worldwide and that the European Championships are a wonderful tournament. Qualifying matches for the Euro 2012 finals will begin in September and regardless of finishing 3rd, Germany will certainly be among the favourites to lift the trophy. Their more youthful side manufactured some remarkable football all the way through the Fifa World Cup with Thomas Muller winning lifting the Golden Boot with 5 goals and three assists. With several other young starlets like Ozil, Boateng and Kediera, Germany will be one of the teams to look out for.

As current World and European champions, Spain will be a very difficult opposing team. Many of their players will still be young enough in 2012 to supply difficult opposition and they will be willing to defend their title.

At last Holland was able to leave their individual egos behind during the FIFA World Cup and due to this fact, the Dutch made it to their 3rd World Cup final beating a great many peoples favourite, Brazil, along the way. With more effective finishing from Robben, Holland could well have won the tournament as an alternative to Spain and they will aim to continue in the same vein all through Euro 2012.

The traditionally powerful nations of France, England and Italy all failed miserably in South Africa and subsequently, the curtain will absolutely come down on numerous of the older players careers. England have quite a few impressive young players to deliver to the international stage and if they can emulate the German team, there will be increased hopes within the English fans.

The Euro 2012 host nations of Poland and Ukraine will both take advantage of enormous support but in the long run, they generally undertake not have the quality to seriously challenge for the title.
