Great Prospects For The 2010 World Cup

Trying to guess what country is going to win the world cup in South Africa is a hard bet. Many people who have a great knowledge of football agree that it’s not about the best team but about the one that is going to be in better shape compared to the other ones. Big football powers have faced early exits several times and it’s not uncommon unexpected things to occur, especially when the big teams underestimate some newcomers.

Turkey managed to reach the semi-finals and finish 3d in the 2002 World Cup, which was something that not many people would expect. How many football fans could really see Italy winning the cup instead of Brazil, or Germany reaching another final?? Of course there are some undisputed favourites as this is always the case but not seeing them winning the trophy should not be a big surprise. Brazil and Argentina are the no1 favourites given their skill, history and the fact that the competition will take place outside Europe. Germany, Italy and England cannot be overseen for different reasons. Germany because of their consistency, Italy because they are the previous winners, and England because one day they will win it again.

Given that weather experts are talking about one of the warmest summers ever that sounds like it’s going to be a summer to remember. Watching the games outdoors makes such a big difference as the world cup has a big social impact. What you need is a nice backyard, a person to be in charge of the bbq, a bright, flat TV screen, a pair of wireless outdoor speakers and all those nice friends to be there. Even the kids, who normally are too active to sit down and enjoy a game, would be happy running around or playing with their remote control helicopter or just watch the game.

It has been such a long anticipation since the previous world cup that it’s very understandable why so many millions of people are looking forward to the 2010 games. Are you ready for this?!
